What Is Blueprint Built?

Development should have direction.

Blueprint Built Basketball is a basketball player development company built to help serious athletes prepare for where the game is taking them next.

Every athlete has a unique blueprint. Different physical tools. Different skills. Different strengths. Different weaknesses. Different roles. And ultimately, different paths toward reaching their potential.

Because of that, development shouldn't be one-size-fits-all. B³ combines basketball skill development, physical performance, player evaluation, film study, and long-term development planning into one individualized approach.

Who We Work With

Blueprint
for Every Stage

High School Prospects

From emerging young prospects beginning to establish their basketball identity to nationally recruited players preparing for college basketball. At this stage, development is about more than immediate production. We help athletes identify the qualities that can separate them long term while building the physical, technical, tactical, and mental foundation necessary for higher levels of competition.

College Athletes

Once a player reaches college basketball, the development problem changes. Roles become more specialized. Competition increases. Playing time becomes harder to earn. We work with college athletes to evaluate their current role, strengthen the qualities that already create value, address limitations, expand their game where appropriate, and prepare for increased responsibility. For players with professional aspirations, development also begins looking beyond their current environment toward the qualities that will translate to the next level.

Professional Athletes

At the professional level, development becomes increasingly specific. Small improvements can create meaningful differences in performance, role, longevity, and opportunity. Our work with professional athletes is centered around identifying the areas that can provide the greatest return, whether that means sharpening an existing weapon, expanding a particular part of the player's game, preparing for a new role, or addressing something that appeared during the previous season.

Built at Every Stage

The Blueprint changes as the player changes. A developing high school athlete doesn't need the same Blueprint as a Division I starter. A college athlete preparing for professional basketball doesn't need the same development priorities they had at 15. Different stage. Different demands. Different Blueprint.

Building The Blueprint

ASSESS.
CLASSIFY.
BUILD.

You can't build the Blueprint until you understand the athlete.

Our development system connects player evaluation, basketball analysis, physical performance, skill development, and long-term projection into one process.

01

Assessment

We evaluate the athlete through game film, statistical production, basketball skill, decision-making, movement, physical qualities, competitive habits, role, environment, development history, and long-term goals.

02

Classification

We identify how the athlete creates value, how their physical profile influences their game, and which functional advantages can become the foundation of their basketball identity.

03

Development

Here, assessment becomes action and we determine what skills/traits need to be built, sharpened, expanded and protected. This allows us to create a roadmap around the individual rather than forcing the player into a predetermined workout.

The Three Pillars

ONE ATHLETE.
THREE PILLARS.

01Strength
02Mental
03Skill

01 / STRENGTH

Strength

Build the physical tools necessary to execute the game. Strength, power, speed, acceleration, deceleration, movement quality, durability, and physical resilience.

02 / MENTAL

Mental

Build the processor behind the player. Decision-making, pattern recognition, preparation, confidence, adaptability, communication, and understanding.

03 / SKILL

Skill

Build basketball tools that survive competition. Shooting, finishing, ball handling, footwork, passing, advantage creation, defensive technique, and role-specific execution.

Development Philosophy

Build players who scale.

Our philosophy is centered on building complete, scalable basketball players whose games translate as the level of competition rises.

We identify what makes each player different and sharpen those qualities into dependable weapons. From there, we build complementary skills that allow the player to anticipate defensive reactions, solve problems, and find multiple pathways to impact winning.

The Blueprint isn't built for where you are.

It's built for where you're going.

North Star Framework

WHERE
ARE YOU
GOING?

The North Star represents the long-term direction of an athlete’s development.

What type of player are we ultimately trying to build?

What will that player need to do at a high level?

Which physical, technical, tactical, and mental qualities does that require?

What should we prioritize today?

The Team

PEOPLE
BEHIND
THE BLUEPRINT.

Josiah
Bunton

Owner & Director of Operations
Lead Player Development Architect

Josiah Bunton is the founder, Owner and Director of Operations of Blueprint Built Basketball, where he oversees the organization's player development programming.

His approach to player development sits at the intersection of basketball skill development, strength and performance, exercise science, biomechanics, and player evaluation. Rather than viewing those areas independently, Josiah's work focuses on understanding how they interact to build basketball players whose abilities translate to higher levels of competition.

His background includes experience within the University of Louisville basketball environment, including work with Louisville Women's Basketball's Strength & Conditioning program. His development as a coach has also included exposure to athlete monitoring, velocity-based training, force-plate technology, workload data, and exercise science principles.

The Approach

WHAT DOES
THIS PLAYER
NEED?

Josiah's work is driven by one central question:

What does this player need to become to succeed where they're trying to go?

Answering that requires looking beyond the player's current skill set. We study the athlete's game, physical profile, strengths, limitations, role, environment, and long-term projection to identify the areas that can create the greatest return on their development.
